CORPUS FAMILY MUTUAL AID FUND
ABOUT CORPUS:
CORPUS WAS STARTED BY NYC HARDCORE TRIO SHOW ME THE BODY IN 2017. IT FUNCTIONS AS A PLATFORM AND LABEL WITH FOCUSES ON LIVE EVENTS, RELEASING MUSIC, AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZING. CORPUS IS A SMALL GROUP OF ARTISTS AND ORGANIZERS WORKING TO EMPOWER NYC YOUTH EXISTING IN THE SUBCULTURES THAT HAVE SHAPED THE CITY'S HISTORY. CORPUS ALSO WORKS TO EMPOWER A GREATER COMMUNITY TO BE PART OF A CULTURE THAT REPRESENTS THE SPIRIT OF WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A NEW YORKER. SOME COMMUNITY TENANTS INCLUDE INTELLECTUAL WARFARE, SELF-DEFENSE, MUTUAL RESPECT, AND SOLIDARITY. CORPUS FAMILY IS THE SECTOR OF CORPUS THAT'S SOLE PURPOSE IS DIRECT ACTION.
THE CORPUS FAMILY MUTUAL AID FUND IS FOR CORPUS ARTISTS AND PEOPLE WORKING IN THE NYC DIY/EXPERIMENTAL MUSIC COMMUNITY THAT ARE RELIANT ON LIVE SHOWS/GIGS, AND HAVE BEEN FINANCIALLY IMPACTED BY COVID-19. APPLICANTS NOT WORKING DIRECTLY IN LIVE MUSIC ARE NOT ELIGIBLE.
UPDATE: THE FUND IS ONLY ACCEPTING APPLICANTS WHO ARE BLACK ARTISTS AND PEOPLE CREATING AND SUPPORTING MUSIC IN NYC, AND BLACK, BROWN OR INDIGENOUS ORGANIZERS.
HOW THIS WORKS:
