Hello!

We are Charles and Ashley Correia! We will have been married 4 years June 20th! We love spending our time with our three dogs and 2 cats, playing board games, watching our favorite reality juicy TV shows together, and being outside! We live in the beautiful State of Alabama and are currently starting our Adoption Process.

A little about us
We met in November of 2018, both a little defeated when it came to relationships and dating. Our first date was getting Ice Cream in 30 Degree weather! (I really like Ice Cream) We were very, surprisingly, INTERVIEWING each other! We discussed our expectations, marriage, having a family, what timelines for each we expected. Not a typical first date at all!! From that day on, we were inseparable. We offered each other Honesty and being able to communicate our needs; which neither of us were able to successfully do in any relationships before. We became each other's best friends, each other's loves, and we were engaged April 2019! I went off of Birth Control and we started trying the next month. We were not having any success, but we not worried yet. We were Planning on getting married April 2020 and as everyone knows, COVID HIT!!! We had already basically planned our entire wedding and had to start from scratch. We re-planned and re-planned, and changed dates and years and finally decided, it wasn't worth the stress!! We decided to invite our immediate families and have our wedding at a park the next weekend! It was the absolute best thing we could have EVER done. It was more intimate and the day was absolutely beautiful. After settling down in married life; We started or fertility testing. After a couple months we finally had our answers that NEITHER of us were fertile without help. He would need a surgery and rounds of Medication. I had the ovarian egg count of a 45 year old and suspected Endometriosis! I would have to go through rounds of IVF in order to even hold a pregnancy. Weirdly enough, we were relieved of the guilt we felt. We were both to blame, there could be no resentment towards each other; It was a great relief. We knew immediately that we would adopt, but we knew we were not ready. Our state has a minimum marriage requirement of three years in order to be eligible to adopt and we USED that time. We have cried and grieved more about the loss of OUR baby more than anything I imagined was possible. We made sure to feel it and talk about it openly with each other. Checked in about where we were mentally and gave each other the space we each needed in order to have our own feelings. June 2023 passed and our three year mark passed. More conversations happened, WE bought a HOUSE, started working at the same company in order to carpool, and started assessing our home life balance and what having a child in the home would be like. Without realizing it, in preparations, we came to acknowledge that we were happy and mentally ready. Our journey went from wanting our baby to wanting to BE a family FOR a baby. We started diving into research at the beginning of 2024, and talked to many adoption agencies! Which brings us to today! We are finally to the point where we are needing to start funding our adoption process. Please think about donating to our cause! If you yourself have been through the adoption process recently please feel free to message me! I would love to hear your stories and your advice!

Thank you,
Love the Correias
