Jim Correia has worked in marinas and shipyards for over 40 years. His love and passion for the work is undeniable and clearly had a profound impact on his sons – both of whom decided to follow him into the industry.

A cornerstone of the marine world is assisting those in need. Whether offshore, in the bay, or at the dock, it has been bred into us to help our fellow boater in any way we can. This is because we know that the sea is a formidable opponent and that we all will need help at some point, no matter how skilled or experienced. Honestly, the same could be said of “life.”

That is why we ask that you extend that same philosophy to helping the Correia Family. As you may know, they have recently experienced extreme hardship that has pushed this great family beyond what any family should face.

The goal of this fundraiser is to provide the family with the financial support needed to pay for rent, mortgages, grandkids, food, and other expenses. It is a supplement to their income as they take time away from work to recover as a family.

Jim has always lived by the mariner’s code - to help those in need when they need it – and he never asked for anything in return. Jim did it because that is who he is. He has dedicated his life to helping all of us enjoy the water and always did it with a smile underneath his great mustache.
