Corrina’s MS fight & stem cell treatment
Donation protected
In October of 2022, our beautiful friend Corrina aged 27, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). She has been hospitalised 7 times since her diagnosis for upto 6 days, almost 2 hours from home.
Corrina even spent Mother’s Day in hospital this year.
She is in Chronic pain night and day. With pains that feel like being submerged into an ice bath and electric shocks, occasionally she stutters when she talks and loses vision in her right eye. Her left side is weak and she often drops things & has falls. She has since suffered a stroke which has effected the left side of her face leaving it drooping and weak without more medication.
Not only have her friends and family become carers but her eldest two children have also become carers. Children shouldn’t ever have to care for their mother at such a young age. They’re up every morning doing breakfast getting their sisters ready for preschool all before getting themselves ready and going to school.
As her friends and support we are trying to raise some much needed funds for her to get Stem-cell treatment so she can continue to raise her 5 beautiful children ages from 1-9 years and to regain the quality of life that a 27 year old mum should have.
This will pay for Corrina’s medical expenses. The stem cell treatment she wishes to receive, travel to receive her stem cell treatment when decided on exactly where, the cost of living and raising her five beautiful children while she is getting her treatment and being unwell, and for all the time off her husband, Beau, has to have, to care for her and for him to come home and get the kids ready for school, plus the time everyone in her support crew is having off to help her make appointments as she’s unable to drive, to care for the kids & just day to day activities.
Corrina wishes of getting stem cell treatment in the near future, she is exhausted and spends almost all day in bed, not being able to wake up and hardly move. She uses a cane just to be able to walk, and some days she cannot walk at all and is stricken to a wheelchair.
This stem cell treatment will not cure her multiple sclerosis, but it will help improve the symptoms, give her some freedom and mobility back and slow the progression of this disease down so she can live everyday with some quality of life again and enjoy raising and playing with her children.
Over the past five years, Corrina and her husband Beau have run a charity car show for the Westpac rescue helicopter service, in this time they have raised close to $45000 for others in need and not once taken any money from these events for themselves not even to cover the costs of running the show itself!
Before Corrina was diagnosed she use donate her time to warrior disabilities services and teach them to sew. She would love to get back to doing that.
