Corwin Family

Carl Corwin is a well love man around our small community. He loves his family with everything he has and would do anything to help a friend. On June 22 he had an accident, he fell from a ladder while trying to trim a tree. He was life flighted to Grant Medical Center where they found a significant amount of broken bones and injuries. A total of 15 breaks on the right side of his rib cage, a broken vertebra, a broken sacrum, a fractured pelvis, a hematoma on his liver, and a pneumothorax. On Wednesday the 26th Carl was in a lot of pain and he started to have difficulty breathing. They found that his chest cavity was filling with blood and fluid causing the lower part of his right lung to collapse along with the left slowly starting to do the same, he was placed on bi-pap and given 100% oxygen. They were able to place a chest tube to drain the fluid and relieve a lot of the pressure. His ability to maintain his oxygen stat improved but the pain in his chest was still causing him difficulty inhaling properly, this difficulty breathing caused him to be transferred to the ICU. The hospital staff wanted to intubate him Friday morning but Carl wanted to be able to see his family before going into surgery. Late Friday afternoon he was taken in to have rib plating surgery, everything went well and after the surgeon was done they replaced the chest tube in the right side to continue draining any fluid. Soon after moving him back to his ICU room things started to bottom out, they had to place a second chest tube in the left side and hang additional bags of blood to help get his blood pressure to come back up. Carl will be intubated for the next several days and his family is praying harder than ever right now. Once Carl is able to he will be sent to a rehabilitation center for extensive physical therapy until he can go home. Once he is home he will receive help from friends and family until he is strong enough to do for himself.

Carl is the only source of income for his family. While he is recovering his wife and grown children are either driving to and from the hospital or staying close in a hotel. He and his wife care for 2 of their grandchildren so the young kids are currently being looked after by other friends and family. I am asking for donations to help pay their house and utility bills, food for them, and the many upcoming medical bills.
