Tax deductible

I am Cory’s Mom. In his memory I would appreciate prayers to our family and any donations to Blue Waters Recovery and Blue Waters Dog Rescue that are both run together. Cory went into Blue Waters Sober Living over 3 ½ years ago and never looked back. He found his firm foundation in life and grew exponentially in all ways. While his innate calm and warm and funny demeanor were always there, he was able to accomplish so much personal growth as well as fulfill his longtime goal of getting his Coast Guard Captain’s License. He stayed at Blue Waters as a manager while working towards getting his captain’s license and went on to work for a beautiful marina in Fort Lauderdale. Cory’s time at Blue Waters first as a client and then as a manager was life changing, rewarding, and leaves a legacy of change, and hope and success and fellowship. His 3 ½ years of full sobriety gave hope and strength to so many in the community. There were no hints of anything that led to the one blip moment when God called him home but his legacy will live on.

Cory met Kara 2 years ago, fell in love, and moved in together to a beautiful little condo on the intercoastal with their Blue Waters rescue dog, Luna. They had a fairytale relationship…unlike anything I have ever seen. A once-in-a lifetime love story. I have shared with Kara that Cory was preparing to ask her to marry him.

He accomplished all that he ever dreamed of with a loving family, sharing life with this soulmate, living and working on the water with so much more yet to come. Blue Waters was instrumental in giving us the very best 3 ½ years of Cory’s life. All of those precious, beautiful, funny, loving memories will live on forever with us.

Both the sober living and the dog rescue played such a huge part in Cory’s journey. He was known there as the “dog whisperer” because every single dog that came in was easily calmed and loved by Cory and numerous dogs that he cared for found their forever home.

Thank you for your kind words and thoughts that will help carry us forward.
I'm raising money to benefit Blue Waters Recovery Foundation, a non-profit organization, which also benefits the dog rescue efforts at Blue Waters, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this because that means so much to me.

Blessings to all,

Cory’s Mom,

And Dad, John
