Cory Riley Memorial Fund
Donation protected
The Cory Riley Memorial Fund was established to purchase equipment for the Yuba City High School Auto Shop in Cory’s memory.
On Monday, October 22, 2018, Cory Stephen Riley, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend passed away at the age of 57 surrounded by his family.
Cory graduated from Yuba City High School in 1979. He went on to attend Yuba College, University of California at Chico, and University of California at Davis. He began work with his father in his youth disassembling motors and assisting in reassembling.
Cory became a master engine builder and tuner. He built high performance racing engines for sprint cars, drag boats, quarter mile and circle track racing, and even Nascar; shipping engines nationally and internationally to countries such as Canada, South America and Australia. He loved the opportunity he was given to travel to Australia to fine tune his work. From 1992 to 2011 Cory’s skill was recognized with numerous awards including the 2000 USAC Engine Builder of the Year, awarded in Indianapolis, among others.
In 2012, Cory left engine building and was hired by Manley Performance Products, Inc. As their Northwest Regional Sales Manager, his sales territory included 12 states. He traveled extensively and enjoyed his time representing the company.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to assist in purchasing equipment for the Yuba City High School Auto Department in Cory’s memory to encourage tech career education for students in his community. The family has set up a fund for that purpose if you wish to make a donation. You may donate here or contact us for donation address. All check donations need to be made to Cory Riley Memorial Fund.
“D” and Beth Riley will ensure that all donations go to the purchase of equipment in Cory’s memory.
