Costs for 100,000 Miles a Second
Don protégé
This short film, 100,000 Miles a Second started 10 years ago when I had this encounter with a homeless musician at an area co-op, who had a very special message for me on a day when I really needed it.
I was upset that I recently started to experience trouble walking due to having multiple sclerosis, and this guy framed it in such a magical way, by talking about the speed of the Universe, I was left to wonder why any of us is walking at all, considering how fast we are traveling!
I have told this story to countless people over the years, bringing many to tears with his beautiful message to me, that when I was in graduate school, I met Jeremy Bandow, a Nicholls fellow and aspiring director, I pitched the idea to him. I am so grateful he agreed to direct it! Now we have this beautiful film!
A longer version of this story got published in a literary magazine (along with many other encounters I've had with homeless people in America). LINK BELOW:

We are now entering film festivals and even though I was able to personally fund the production and pay for the entrance fees to some of the festivals, we want to enter as many as possible and make this Homeless Busker message go viral by entering as many festivals as possible! Plus there are other expenses like DVD pressing, art posters, festivals fees, and travel expenses. This is all happening very fast, so we can use these funds immediately!
We ask that you open your hearts to this project and give what you can... anything helps, truly and sincerely.
