Copperfield Ballet Folklorico

Our award-winning Copperfield Elementary Ballet Folklorico Dance Group is performing again. Due to the restrictions and complexities of Covid we were forced to put everything on hold. Our students couldn't wait to get back to their weekly practices and competitions. As I mentioned we are an awarding winning dance group that was created because I saw a need to motivate students academically and to celebrate our beautiful culture through dance. Our school is a Title One campus which means a majority of our students come from households that qualify for free or reduced lunches based on family income. Our student population is largely Hispanic with many of our kids being first-generation Americans. Our families are very supportive, but unfortunately, they have many financial obligations with limited resources.

We can provide dance classes at a reduced rate and have bake sales and other fundraising events to help offset some of our dance-related expenses. As hard as we try we are not able to cover the cost of all our needs. We are asking for funds to cover the costs of costume rentals, competition t-shirts and trophies. This will enable us to compete in our next competition. Please consider helping us. When our students dance they aren't worried about what they don't have or if they'll ever fit in because at that moment they are incredible dancers representing their community and bringing joy to so many.
