Support Christian Doll & Family

***UPDATE***

We are heartbroken to share with you that our son brother and grandson, Christian Doll, passed away. Our family is devastated.

The accident he was involved in and the resulting injuries, were too much to recover from. He passed Friday night, while being surrounded for his final days and hours by our families and special family friends. We supported each other and Christian as much as we could in a senseless reality that no family should ever face.

As his parents, when the time came that we had exhausted all options to help our beautiful boy, we were asked about organ donation. Organ donation is something that makes the tragedy go on longer as time is needed to place the organs with the proper recipients. We were assured Christian couldn’t feel any pain so we agreed. He would want to help other kids and families. We know what we were going through as a family, losing Christian, and we now, very unfortunately, understand what other families are going through when faced with losing their child, brother, sister, mom or dad. There was no answer for our precious boy but he could be the answer and game changer for as many as 8 people. We gave the organ placement team 24 hours to match recipients. Overnight, all organs were matched with recipients. We didn’t know before but Christian’s blood type is O+, he was basically a universal donor. We hope, someday, to meet some of the kids and people that Christian saved through his ultimate donation.

The picture you see above is 3 heart necklaces, given only to organ donors. Each came with two pieces. Christian had one piece hung around his neck by his Mom Josie, his sister Mikka and myself, his dad Mike. Christian’s mom, dad and sister each have the other half of the heart.

Our family doesn’t have any answers on a Celebration of Life for Christian yet. While it’s impossible to put something together that captures everything that Christian was, we want to take our time to ensure we create a memorial that represents Christian as best as we can. When we know, we will post, so as many of our friends and family as possible can come out to remember Christian and celebrate his life that was senselessly cut too short.

We thank everyone amongst our family, friends and community that have supported our family in so many ways over the last week. We are grateful for that.

We know that his “Grandma Lethbridge” has welcomed him into heaven and will have her arms around him.

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

“Sticks out and Thumbs up!!”

**Update - We are blown away by the support we are receiving... we had no clue where to set a goal as we don't know how long this journey will be. The whole process has been a bit overwhelming but we appreciate each and every one of you who have shown us your support, donated or put a stick out for our boy.

We are reaching out with heavy hearts to share the story of Christian Doll, a vibrant 15-year-old who has recently experienced a tragic accident. This unforeseen event has left him in the Foothills ICU in Calgary, fighting bravely against a devastating brain injury, with the support of dedicated medical professionals.

Unfortunately, at this time, he is in a coma. Christian is unable to breathe on his own or open his eyes. We remain hopeful every day, that he will make small improvements but know that his brain is deeply impacted.

My Godson Christian, son of Mike and Josie and brother to Mikka, is a beloved member of our community. He is known for his passion for hockey, golf and working out, his deep love and dedication for his family and friends, and his quick witted intelligent nature . He is the best son, brother, teammate and friend anyone could have. This devastating accident has not only impacted him physically but has also placed an immense emotional and financial strain on his family, who are constantly by his bedside.

The road to recovery will be long and challenging. As Christian battles to regain his health, his family needs our support more than ever. Medical expenses, therapy, and the costs of daily living during this difficult time are rapidly mounting.

As friends of Christian and his family, we are humbly asking for your help to ease the financial burden on them so they can focus entirely on his recovery. Your generous donation, no matter how big or small, will make a significant difference. Funds raised will go directly to covering medical bills, rehabilitation costs, and essential living expenses for the family during this critical period.

In addition to your donations, the family has become aware that some of his teammates and our hockey family have placed hockey sticks on their porch and would be deeply touched if you could place a hockey stick on your porch as a sign of support and solidarity for Christian. We also ask for as many prayers as you can say as we know miracles happen every day.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and support of Christian. As the family deals with this crisis, we appreciate your support but are asking for privacy as the family wants all of their attention focused on supporting Christian.
