Counselor Licensure Fund

I am writing you today to tell you some excellent news and to ask for your generosity and financial support. Next month, I begin a year-long Mindfulness Facilitator certification program with Engaged Mindfulness Institute (EMI); additionally, in November 2017, I plan to sit for The National Counselor Examination for Licensure and Certification (NCE). I will use the Mindfulness Facilitator certification and counseling licensure to serve our community as a Behavioral Health Therapist and Mindfulness Facilitator.
I am honored to receive a scholarship to the Engaged Mindfulness Institute, but I need to raise additional funds to meet expenses as I prepare for the NCE. As a licensed counselor, I will support individuals, families, and groups with mindfulness-based therapy.
My humble goal is $3500 by September 1, 2017.
This money will be used to cover my necessary expenses as I study and prepare for the National Counselor Examination for Licensure and Certification, and your contribution will be greatly appreciated.
In 2011, I began to use mindfulness to support the social- emotional learning of pre-kindergarten children at Malcolm X Elementary School in Washington DC. I developed a love for helping underserved communities as a mindfulness facilitator, counselor, and mentor. Since 2011, I have collaborated with Minds Incorporated to teach mindfulness at Eastern High School, Educare, National Children's Center, and Maury Elementary.
I am committed to teaching mindfulness and providing counseling to our most vulnerable and underserved communities, and I appreciate any amount you can donate.
