Couple attacked downtown after concert
Donation protected
We are friends of Rory and Elizabeth (Liz or Lisa to some) trying to raise funds for emergency living expenses after they were violently attacked on their way back to their hotel after the Nickleback concert at Rogers Place on Saturday night. With no provocation, a woman grabbed Elizabeth, threw her to the ground and was about to kick her face into the cement when Rory was able to step in. The attacker then focused on him, leaving him with a broken right foot that required days in the hospital and surgery to repair. People at the scene called 911. As the couple waited for an ambulance to arrive, this woman attacked at least 2 other innocent people before police arrested her only to be released a few hours later. Rory works as a self-contractor, out of town and is the sole breadwinner for the family as Elizabeth stays home to raise their two children. This incident has left Rory unable to work for the next couple of months and that leaves the family without an income. We are hoping to raise enough funds to lift the stress of living expenses and bills over the next couple of months while Rory focuses on healing and regaining the use of his foot so he can return to work.
