Jail Or Fines For Library Books

My name is Mindy, I'm a mother of 5 amazing kids. I am the head of my household, I work as a security guard. I recently found out through my boss that i had a warrant out for my arrest. I thought it was a joke because I've never even had a parking ticket, but it is very real. I found out that failure to return library books is charged as a misdemeanor in my county. I am facing up to 93 days in jail or $500 fine. I was suspended pending investigation at work, due to the fact I cannot have a criminal record. I have been off work for almost 2 weeks now. That means bills aren't being paid and I don't have the money for the fines or costs that I'm going to owe after the 7th. I will appear in front of a judge in the 7th of November. I returned the books. The 2 books I knew were out because I tried to use the printer at the library and they wouldn't let me because I had 2 books out. I returned them right away, that was 6 months ago. I assumed I'd be sent to collections for late fees. My family and I are struggling at the moment. I had a women from a Facebook group donate what I owe in late fees to the library which I'm going to pay for before court. Any little bit helps but we need help. I never thought something like this would ever happen. I'm still completely floored and i just want to keep my job.
