Courtney Duran medical expenses
Donation protected
Hello,
im fundraising for an amazing sister, daughter, wife and mother, my sister Courtney Duran. Courtney is 30 years old and a Mother to two beautiful kiddos, Ilyana 7, Derek 12. On Monday February 7th, Courtney wasn’t welling well and asked her husband Matt to take her to the ER. Thankfully he did because Courtney suffered from a pulmonary embolism while in the ER. The staff did CPR on her for over 45mins and were able to Revive her. They heavily sedated her and We were told it would be a waiting game. Well Tuesday she had another heart attack and her kidneys started shutting down. They placed her on temporary dialysis and therapeutic hypothermia. Wednesday I was finally able to see her and she was hooked up to a ventilator, so many drugs and had a CVC line for the dialysis. It was hard to see her like that but I was able to hold her hand and tell her how much I love her and to fight. Wednesday night the Doctor said they were going to Slowly start warming her back up and taking her off of dialysis in weaning off the heart medicine. Thursday morning her husband received a call that Courtney needed a blood transfusion because her hemoglobin levels were low. Thursday afternoon
we were told that they were taking her off of sedation and they were hopeful because she had good labs come back. Thursday night they told us that they were awaiting the EEG results and we’re hopeful to take her to MRI the next day. As of right now we are still awaiting the EEG results. We just ask for prayers and anything you can donate will help this family out so much. Courtney has a fight ahead of her but it’s one that I know she can win. She is strong and a fighter. She has so many who love her and are praying for her. I wanted to start this fundraiser so that we can help the Duran family with any expenses and so they can take time to heal. Thank you.
***When we got the MRI results on Tuesday Feb 15th. It showed Severe Brain trauma and only her brain stem was functioning. The Doctors told us she was never going to be the same. They said it was time to call in Hospice and say goodbye. Courtney passed away peaceful and surrounded by family on Saturday February 19th 2022.***
