Courtney Foster Bibbo and her husband Bobby live in Walpole and have two beautiful children, five-year-old Dylan and three-year-old Hannah!
After a fainting episode in the fall of 2021, it was determined that Courtney would need brain surgery. However, after consulting with the neurosurgeon that there was no added risk, Courtney and Bobby opted to delay surgery until January of 2022 so their young children could enjoy Christmas and their birthdays as a healthy family.
One day Courtney was a vibrant, healthy 36-year-old; the next day, she was undergoing a 36-hour surgery for an AV malformation in her brain. Unfortunately, the surgery did not go as planned, necessitating Courtney spent six months in the Neuro ICU at Brigham and Women's Hospital, followed by a three-month stay at a Rehabilitation facility. Her family cared for Dylan and Hannah while making the daily journey into Boston to be at Courtney's bedside.
Before her 36-hour brain surgery, Courtney was a Program Manager at Brigham and Women's Hospital, working tirelessly to improve the lives of others. Courtney meticulously prepared for her absence from Brigham by working until the Friday before her surgery, leaving no detail incomplete. Paralleling her dedication to her career and two young children, Courtney was an avid athlete, having completed two Boston Marathons and intended to participate in years to come.
Courtney's future prognosis is somewhat uncertain at this time. However, she will be discharged from The Rehabilitation Hospital on September 25 and will require round-the-clock care. The Bibbo home will need modifications to accommodate all the medical equipment necessary for Courtneys care.
When faced with the daunting thought of brain surgery, Courtney and Bobby planned to privately overcome these obstacles life had placed before them and were looking forward to happy times
Courtney and Bobby are fortunate to have supportive families; however, the emotional and economic toll is immeasurable for everyone. The Foster Bibbo family now needs their village more than ever to support them in this difficult and uncertain time. The family was adamant they did not want a Go Fund Me created on their behalf, but after much prompting, they finally agreed.
None of us knows what curve balls life will throw our way, and Courtney and Bobby never imagined how their lives could change so quickly. Anyone who knows Courtney knows she is an incredible fighter.
Bobby's number one request is prayers for Courtney to return to her former self. Please continue to pray for this young, beautiful family while considering donating. While we can't ease the emotional burden, we can help with the terrible financial hardship.
