Help Courtney with gas, groceries and bills.

As most know, tomorrow Courtney Stier will be starting the process of a 3 part surgery to rid her nose of Cancer.

 

It started with what Courtney thought was a zit. Over time it got bigger. After so long of it not going away she was finally seen for the problem. They decided they wanted to biopsy. They told her then it wasn’t cancer but we’re still going to remove it.

 

 

So the solution at the time was a Mohs procedure. They went it and and kept removing tissue until they had clear margins. They sent what they took out to pathology. Turns out it was Cancer.

 

She was given 2 options from there. Radiation or a 3 part reconstruction surgery. The surgeon said with her age and damage radiation can do plus the possibility of it coming back that he would choose to do the surgery.

 

She, with all of our support chose surgery. She is having what is called a Paramedial Forehead Flap. She will continue to have revisions for 6-12 months. As a woman, we are constantly judged. An a woman who just turned 40 the thought of this surgery and how a person would look when it’s done, and criticism, this is very scary.

 

So here we are. Tomorrow is the day. Myself and my mom will be with her. This woman works 3 jobs. A woman who is always working hard taking care of the home, and family. It’s hard for her to not keep going and having to sit and heal. But she will. The scar just will tell a story.

 

She is beautiful and always will be. I will be updating as I can. Pictures if she will allow it. Take it as a reminder to be vigil in listening to the body.
