Courtneys Fight Against Bone Cancer
Donation protected
Back in November, my sister Courtney was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, bone cancer of the jaw. She is about to start her third round of chemo and will need one more after this. Following the chemo, she will have surgery on her jaw where they will remove bone from her leg to essentially rebuild her jaw. The surgery will be about 8-10 hours and will require 3 different surgical teams. She will need to be in ICU for 3 days and will be staying in the hospital for at least 7 days.
She has a very long journey ahead of her; recovery will take anywhere from 6 months to a year. She will need to learn how to reuse her jaw and see a speech therapist as this will be affecting her speech too.
She's been making many trips back and forth to Boston Medical Center and there will be many more appointments to come in the next year.
Courtney has always been such a giving and kindhearted person, so my siblings and I wanted to do this for her to ease the worry of all of the bills and expenses chemo, the surgery, and the appointments are bringing in.
Any extra money will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
Thank you all so much!
