United Airlines Pilots

It has taken 17 years of determination and teamwork from Mike's hometown of Hershey, PA to approve a parcel of land in downtown Hershey - next to the Hershey Volunteer Fire Department. ROCKS Memorial will be the showcase of the Courtyard of Honor. Please donate so Mike can be permanently memorialized in Chocolatetown USA and  5 million visitors can honor Mike.

I am looking to raise $100,000 through our 501c3 non-profit Courtyard of Honor, INC. Any donation of any amount would be greatly appreciated. Please share with others and encourage donations so we can reach out goal by the 25th Anniversary - 9/11/2026.

Please visit the Courtyard of Honor Website (www.courtyardofhonor.org)

This fund is to honor one of the first casualties of the War on Terror, on that fateful day of September 11, 2001. Michael “Rocks” Horrocks was a 1981 graduate of Hershey High School. We are asking to raise money in dedication to building the “Courtyard of Honor” that will include a 9-foot, 11-inch stainless steel memorial in honor of the hero and copilot of United Airline’s Flight 175.

The Courtyard will include a 9/11 memorial dedicated to Michael Horrocks, veterans, and emergency personnel (fire, police, and ambulance).

Michael “Rocks” Horrocks was a 1981 graduate of Hershey High School and a 1985 graduate of West Chester University, where he also served as the quarterback for both the high school and university’s football team. After graduation, Michael went on to join the United States Marine Corps, where he served as the Second Lieutenant and flew the A4 Skyhawk, and then went on to be a pilot for United Airlines. Michael was a co-pilot on United Flight 175, a plane that was regularly scheduled to go to New York from Boston, that was hijacked and the second to crash into the second Twin Tower of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. The plane held 60 passengers, including the hijackers, that all died on this tragic, fateful day. Although it will never be known exactly what happened on that plane, those who knew Michael know he did not go down without a fight. Michael’s legacy lives on in both the Hershey and West Chester communities and he will always be remembered for his leadership and compassion.

Please donate to the cause for not only Michael and his loved ones but in honor of other fallen soldiers and those who lost their lives on that fateful day.

Thank you You
God Bless America and God Bless Michael "ROCKS" Horrocks
