Coventry High School Wrestling

Many parents are looking for all the local support we can get for our Coventry High School Wrestling team. We were told the program is rebuilding and has no funds, and what we have received thus far has been provided from the middle school wrestling team. This is a long shot but figured we'd give it a try and ask our family, friends and community for some help.

Being on the Wrestling team is providing these young men with the following skills: Discipline/self-control/physical & mental fitness/confidence & self-esteem/ teamwork/ respect and sportsmanship/and how to deal with adversity and failure.

These young men are putting in a lot of hard work: keeping grades up, staying out of trouble, and practicing five to six days a week. Coventry hosted a tournament on 12/09/2023 and the team wished they would have had matching warm up gear to represent their Comet Pride. Kind of sad to see at our hosted tournament our school didn't even look like a put-together team. That didn't stop them from going out on those mats and giving it their all. They ALL represented Coventry High School with pride placing 5th out of 19! Three of our students even won and received metals. They have goals and want to make state championship in Columbus!
