Elderly Victims of a Drunk Driver

Hi, my name is Hilary (only child), I am fundraising for my parents Gilbeto (74) and Paula (78) De Haro. On the early morning of Memorial Day 5/29/2023 my parents were in a high impact car crash. A non visible disabled car with no lights was sideways in my father's lane (lane 1) he had seconds to react. He made a decision that saved both of their lives, my mother took majority of the impact, jaws of life were used to extract her from their van. She suffered two broken legs, two broken fingers, and one broken rib. My father suffered internal bruising due to the impact of the collision. Their 2001 Chevy Astro van was completely totalled.

It is a miracle that they are alive. It is very important to me that my parents quality of life returns to normal. My mother has a long recovery ahead and my father needs to resume as Founder/Chef of our family legacy. We were not able to open our small business (The Original Las Brisas in San Pedro, Ca) without our Founder/Chef and employees were not able to work for a week. My parents are a staple of the community, loved and respected by many. I can not do this journey without the help and support of everyone. My heart and soul is broken and until I see my mom walking and doing the things she loves I will be her rooting cheerleader.

These funds will help cover medical and all expenses that have been incurred due to this horrific car accident.
