Hello, my name is Anna. On behalf of my family first and foremost I’d like to thank everyone who has been reaching out and dropping by to check on all of us. We are very grateful. We are receiving so much love and support. My Dad Reyes Eusebio Medina who was born in San Andrés Ixtlán, Jalisco on January 6, 1958… Left us peacefully at home on Father’s Day this 18th of June. He came to the U.S. in the early 70’s. He had a short stay in Santa Ana working in restaurants, but that wasn’t for him. Made his way to the Napa Valley where he remained. Vineyard work was his passion and the ranch on his free time as well as spending time with cousins and siblings who made their way out here as well. He Met my mom Maria de Los Angeles in the early 80’s and soon after married. I was his first and only daughter (his reina), soon after came my brother Juan (his Juancho) then last but not least, Roberto ( his osito mielero). My dad became diabetic in the late 90’s. In 2003 he began to have sight problems due to the severe diabetic condition. After several eye surgeries and laser treatments he was told nothing more could be done. In 2006 he was told he’d have to start going to dialysis. My siblings and I worked together to help get him around to all his appointments. 2007 Juan brought my sister in Law Maribel into our a family, this brought happiness because he’d gain another daughter. 2008 My niece Lani was born, his Granddaughter he was over the moon in happiness. She gave my dad so much more strength. 2011 his first grandson Andres was born, another life boost for him. Over the years he had several complications with dialysis to where sometimes he was ready to give up. My dad was a strong man and in these last couple of years he was suffering a lot more. Within these last 9 months he was continuously letting us know he was ready to rest. He had gone through surgery and his heart stopped midway. He was in a short coma, but fought through. His youngest grandkid Elias arrived a month later, giving my dad and extra little boost of life and happiness. Two and a half weeks ago my dad had another surgery due to an abscess that became infected. Doctors had told us he’d probably have to go to a care center for his recuperating process. Last minute we were told it wasn’t necessary and we could do it at home. We were happy to know he’d be home to spend Father’s Day with. My dad left peacefully at home in bed on Father’s Day morning. He was ready, but we were not. Any help we receive is greatly appreciated from the bottom of our hearts. This will go to my mom to help cover any extra expenses. My dad will be laid to rest here in Napa, Ca.
