Cover living costs during cancer treatment

Hey there, my name is Alexa LeBlanc . I live and work in Nanaimo and am a mother to my wonderful daughter Madison. Life can be pretty busy between a full-time job and my daughter living with me every other week. I was born and raised on the island and feel like one of the luckiest people in the world to call it my backyard. I was going about my summer like I normally do, sunny weather, waiting to get off work to hit a lake, drive up to Courtenay for the weekend to visit with the family. Until I got a phone call that a routine check came back abnormal. My doctor assures me it doesn't look serious, but it needs to be further looked into. After a month or so the test comes back with evidence of cancer . My heart sinks at the news, and anxiety comes over my whole body, but I try to remain calm. I assure myself it's going to be ok as one does. Surgery is not an option at this point as the cancer has spread to a point where radiation and chemotherapy is the only recommended treatment. I am worried and optimistic at the same time; treatment can kick your ass. I will be starting treatment in November. My doctor says I may be off for months and must stay in Victoria for treatment. The fact that I have to take this amount of time off work is stressful financially and I would appreciate any help that I can get.
