Cover medical costs for rescued horses
Donation protected
We have three rescued horses, and we got them from almost dying to a good state.
Carlos - 25+ yo Arabian with strong arthritis, bought in auction saved from going to a feedlot
Lena - 20+ yo draft horse cross - on medication for anxiety
Hope - 20+ yo Quater Horse - when she came, she was just bones and skin and was feeding her foal, lost a lot of teeth during the healing process but gained weight, problems with one hoof, a lot of abscesses in the past in there
We can mostly cover ongoing vet costs for medications for arthritis and other problems ourselves. But last month, we got a "few" emergencies that dramatically increased our vet bills.
Carlos - laceration - he made himself a big hole in skin by scratching against a tree
Jul 14 - 1160
Hope - colic
Jul 19 - 609
Jul 20 - 2406
Jul 22 - 280
Hope - lame left hind - this is an ongoing problem; it seemed that we saved her hoof, but it's stil repeating
Jul 13 - 543
Aug 15 - 1203
Aug 17 - 624
Summary
So far 5622 USD - today 8/18
We are trying to fundraise money to cover vet costs already spent and Hope's upcoming treatments; there is no horse without a hoof. Any leftovers will be used for veterinary services for our other rescued horses.
