Cover the cost of final expenses for John Aiken.

Hello I am John Fibbi and requesting your generosity to help defray the costs of final expenses for my good friend and former classmate of the past 53 years.

A few minutes after midnight on this July12th, 2023, our classmate John Aiken left this world to enter another.

He was moved to hospice care on the morning of the 11th and I spent 5 hours by his side doing what I could to provide comfort and solace, knowing it would be the last time I would see him.

Ironically, as we now approach our 50th reunion, 50 years ago, he wrote my autobiography for me, which referenced our 5 year reunion.

The writing was an assignment for Mr. Rutledge’s English class that I just couldn’t wrap my mind around. John sensing my plight, put pencil to paper and four and a half pages later produced a “tongue in cheek” masterpiece. In John’s style, he included some classmates, teachers, situations, and political events of the time.

Three weeks ago when first visiting John in the hospital, I carried those pages with me and read them to him. His reaction was positive and he gestured to hold the pages. Attempting to read them brought a bit of a smile to his face.

John was in a state of financial hardship over the last four years, any critical personal documents were either in disarray or non existent. He had no health insurance, never applied for his Social Security benefits and we do not believe he had any life insurance. That said, I am reaching out and requesting your generosity on behalf of his sister Debbie Aiken Wilson, to help defray the costs of John’s final expenses. May he rest in peace. Thank you.
