Covering Expenses for Flooded Car

Hello, my name is Michael Torto from Newark, NJ and I am fundraising in order to repair my Honda Accord from flood damage. I was coming out of the gym when I found my car almost halfway immersed in water. I saved up money for about 2 years in order to put a sizeable payment down for my car, so it's really my prized possession. Thankfully, it is still repairable, but I cannot afford the repairs at this time. I have not started my job for the summer yet and have been doing Doordash and Uber Eats to get by. Now that I cannot use my car, I have no source of income with bills to pay. Unfortunately, my mother is unable to contribute as she also has extensive bills to pay. I am about to be in my third year at Harvard University and use my car to travel to and from school so it's really important that I get it repaired before any long-lasting damage takes place. Anything at all helps and thank you for your time!

Also for questions regarding why I don’t just use insurance, my deductible is pretty high to ensure that i can pay my monthly rate so it’s a little cheaper to pay out of pocket.

The repairs are 4.8k so I set the benchmark to 5.5k in order to offset the fees that go fund me takes.
