Covering Sheba’s Medical & Death Expenses
Donation protected
Hi! I’m Ella and chances are if you know me, you also know Sheba/Cheebs/Big Fat Baby. She showed up at our door one day around 2008 just crying to be let in and she was too cute to resist. We let her in for the night, her and I quickly bonded, and the rest is history.
She was truly my best friend, my soul mate, my cuddle buddy who loved snuggling under the blankets with me and sleeping on my chest, my screaming Mimi, my fierce protector, my bathmat warmer-- the list goes on. We had an amazing 14 years full of love and belly rubs together.
Unfortunately, Sheba suddenly developed a slew of health conditions right on Valentine's Day that quickly and severely worsened. She completely lost the use of her back legs on the first day and the vet visit was somehow inconclusive; the next day, she stopped eating and drinking and became extremely lethargic. She had to stay overnight in an emergency hospital to receive care for kidney infections, dangerously low blood cell count, sepsis, and renal failure, and needed surgery for any chance of survival. There was no guarantee she would even survive the surgery, and if so, her quality of life would be miserable. Just two days after her first sign of illness, I had to make the heart-wrenching decision to put her to sleep. The vet visits, emergency hospital overnight care, and consequent euthanasia and cremation amassed $3,500 in bills. One thing about Sheba-- she was an evil little drama queen, so it's fitting she passed away and left me in debt right after Valentine's Day. Unfortunately, I'm unable to pay all of her bills by myself and still be able to eat, lol!, so I'm reaching out for help with this GoFundMe. If you donate and you would like one, I would love to reach out and send a thank you card!!
Thank you for taking the time to read about my little Sheba, and if you're able, thank you for sharing and/or donating. ❤️
