Covering the expenses around the loss of Margaret

On Tuesday, April 25th, Josh’s grandma, Margaret Peterson, passed away from a tragic accident that occurred just outside their home in Stillwater, MN. Those who knew Margaret remember her as a beacon of joy and generosity to all. She was the first one to give you a hug upon entry to their home, ask about your life, and send you home with a bag of cookies whether you asked for them or not, she will be greatly missed by all. No one, however, will miss her more than Josh.

As his guardian and the woman who raised him, they were incredibly close throughout his life, but they grew closer after the death of Margaret’s daughter and Josh’s mother. Then, last year, Josh decided to move back home not just as a way to stay close with his beloved grandmother, but to also care for her during her remaining years. None of us could have ever believed that time would have been cut so short.

Margaret raised Josh to be exactly who he is - a loving and loyal friend, an incredibly hard-working musician, and a generous soul and presence in all of our lives. Josh has performed with thousands of people throughout his career, and so many of us can recall countless fond memories with him - both personal and professional. He’s the first person to lovingly jump in to help anyone that’s in a bind and does it without fanfare, so we’re here to ask for help on his behalf.

Being a freelance musician, Josh very understandably is unable to work during this time of investigations, grieving the loss of his closest family member, and sorting through the details that lie ahead in moving forward without Margaret. This GoFundMe will help to offset burial costs, forthcoming bills, and unforeseen upkeep costs on their vintage home in Stillwater, as well as to help get our friend back on his feet as soon as he’s able.

As this is an earth-shattering tragedy, Josh is so grateful for not only your prayers and support during this time but also your understood privacy until all investigations are closed.
