COVID 19 Disaster Supplies for IgboLand
Donation protected
Summary
You’re invited to help us purchase medical supplies for our COVID effort the Heart of Igboland - Southeast Nigeria. 30 Million people make up this high risk population. People are already horribly health-compromised as a result of endemic malaria scourge, poor water, hygiene and sanitation services. Your donation buys healing medication, personal protective equipment, ventilators and test kits. The central Headquarters for our effort is Holy Rosary Hospital in Emekuku, Imo State and it will be distributed to all Southeastern states from there. A single treatment can be more than $2,000 when hospitalization is required. The situation is horrible. Everything you donate will help save a life. No matter how small or how great. See https://a-c-i-f.org/covid-19-igboland.
Africa Health and Agriculture Foundation - USA (AHAF-USA) is newly incorporated in Georgia as a non profit charity.
We are in the process of obtaining our federal tax exempt status from the IRS, hoping to have it soon.
Detail
IgboLand, in the Southeast part of Nigeria has approximately 30 Million people who are now under attack by Covid-19. They have nominally few doctors, zero working ventilators/oxygen cylinders, and less than 1/2% of test kits that are in the USA. The people there are largely health compromised to begin with, especially children and pregnant women. They don’t need to be older than 60 to be in a high risk zone...Even young people are in a high risk zone. We are guessing that ~ a quarter of a million people will find themselves at high risk for Covid-19 infection and death without intervention.
Our organization, the Africa, Health and Agriculture Foundation - USA (AHAF-USA) is collecting funds, and working with a local team of professionals to receive, store and dispense medical equipment, personal protection equipment (PPE), supplements and medicines including various anti-virals being employed in the USA/EU, immune system boosters such as zinc tablets, and foods which provide not only nutrition (essential amino acids and vitamins and other micronutrients) which is largely missing but also contain zinc and vitamin C (black beans, and various dry vegetables/fruits). AHAF-USA has been working in IgboLand for the past 15 years on medical care and rural economic development.
The situation in IgboLand is 100’s of times worse than the challenging experience here at home in the USA. (The Igbos, 99% Christians, suffer from orchestrated development setback since losing the 1967-1970 civil war waged by Nigeria against their seceding region known then as Biafra).
Medical supplies, from your donations will be managed, dispensed and patients monitored through the Registered Nurses (with church administration and social workers) living in rural communities who attend the various Christian Churches (and the few medical outlets that they have built in IgboLand). Catholic, Anglican, Methodist, Baptist, and Evangelical churches....capturing 90% of the entire region’s population will be included. Nobody will be left out. The primary HQ center is Holy Rosary Hospital in Emekuku, Imo State.
