COVID - 19 Relief for St.Lucia, Caribbean

In Collaboration with Caritas St. Lucia and the St.Lucia Red Cross
Like many islands in the Caribbean, the beautiful island of Saint Lucia depends on the tourism industry. Due to COVID-19, tourism has all but disappeared. Tourism alone accounts for 65% of the island's GDP. The impact of this pandemic is already devastating many St. Lucian lives. Tens of thousands of St. Lucians have lost their jobs and thousands more are struggling to feed their families. Day by day, life in St. Lucia is becoming increasingly difficult.
The situation:
Prior to the pandemic, much of the country already struggled, with many hanging on the edge of poverty. According to the latest estimates by the St. Lucian government, 25% of the island's 183,461 people live in poverty. Now that practically all hotels have closed and over 13,000 employees have lost their jobs, poverty levels will increase. More importantly, many of the organizations that were assisting our communities, such as the Peace Corps and the Living Water Charity have called their volunteers back home. People need assistance to provide basic staples such as food and sanitary supplies.
Now, more than ever, St. Lucia needs help.
Your Contribution:
With the money we receive from your donations, we will be able to provide emergency food supplies for families in need. The packages we create will contain an assortment of canned and dried foods, such as rice, pasta, beans, cereals, canned vegetables and proteins. With a primary focus on single income families and families who recently lost their jobs, we can provide nutritious meals for about $2 each. In addition, we will deliver much needed sanitary supplies.
Collaboration with The St.Lucia Red Cross, Caritas St. Lucia and Other Partners:
Thanks to our many volunteers and partners, we have a team of people on the ground in St. Lucia to help with the coordination and redistribution of the Emergency Packages to the families in need.
Our collaboration with Caritas Saint Lucia and the Saint Lucia Red Cross , will allow us to distribute desperately needed food and sanitary items among other necessities to the community of St.Lucia.
You can help fill the breadbasket and feed St. Lucia with donations by money, food or gift cards for food purchase. However little you can spare will make a big difference in the lives of the people of St. Lucia.
