COVID 19 Response Fund Collection Campaign
Appeal to contribute for COVID 19 response fund to support Arghakhanchi District Hospital,
Arghakhanchi Nepal to recruit a qualified ICU Nurse.
Nepal is struggling with a surge in the deadly second wave of COVID-19 cases facing shortages
of hospital beds, oxygen supplies, shortages of medical supplies in the country of 30 million
people. The death toll is above 6,700 along with the active cases above 120,000.
Arghakhanchi district is also one of the impacted areas with a population of about 2,00,000 and
only one District hospital capacity is very limited with no ICU bed or ventilator facility. The district
hospital is struggling to provide health facilities to suppress the COVID 19 community spread and
reduce the death casualties. The situation of the Arghakhanchi hospital was widespread across
social media walls and the news portals which was also noticed by some of the Ex- Arghakhanchi
Higher Secondary English Boarding School’s students. We started the discussion on the Facebook messenger group and decided to create a go Fund account to collect fund to fulfil some of the need of Arghakhanchi District Hospital. We
conducted a virtual meeting with the District Hospital Management Chairperson Shreekrishna
Bhusal, and Medical Superintendent of the District Hospital Dr Kapil Gyawali along with some of
the Ex-students from Nepal and overseas. As per the medical superintendent and the board chair of Arghakhanchi Hospital Management Committee, there are equipment available in the hospital, but are not in use due to lack of qualified human resource. So, we plan to recruit a nurse who is able to use CPAP, BiPAP and Ventilators at the hospital. A trained nurse who can use these equipment and can transfer her skills to use these equipment to other is essential to help COVID patients in the district
The fund will be used:
To recruit ICU trained nurse at Arghakhanchi District Hospital. S/he will be paid from the fund collected from this campaign.
The collected amount will be transferred to Arghakhanchi District Hospital Management Committee’s bank account.
