Covid Emergency Assistance
Donation protected
As embarrassing as it feels to ask; My wife has been hospitalized as a result of contracting Covid-19 just days before the birth of our second set of twins. The hospital was forced to deliver our babies prematurely so that they could properly battle the virus.
I have not been able to work because I have to care for our five young children: Zarah (6 yrs.), Zhavia & Zamaya (our first set of twins; almost 2 yrs.), and Serenity & Steven Jr. (our second set of twins; premature newborns). Our three eldest children have contracted Covid-19 as well.
Some of our family and friends have tried to assist me with babysitting, but are limited due to the contagiousness of the virus and their own obligations. I am an over-the-road truck driver, and this poses a huge obstacle because I'd be away from home for days at a time. As a result I have been unable to work.
My Wife, Jasmine had to undergo ECMO surgery, as a result of Covid-19 causing her to contract pneumonia in both lungs. None of the other breathing methods were effective. Her lungs were so badly damaged that to simply breathe put too much stress on her heart and lungs which caused heart failure along with a host of many other medical complications (kidney failure, liver failure, blood clots etc.
Jasmine is currently in a medical induced coma. She is hospitalized at DMC Harper and has been battling the severe damage caused by this virus for the last two weeks. She will have a long and tumultuous road to recovery, and possibly have life-lasting complications.
I work extremely hard to provide for my family and have never had to ask for financial assistance. Yet as hard as it is for everyone right now who is affected by this terrible plague, any donations spared would be most appreciated! All proceeds would be used towards our recurring bills, food, and baby supplies. Anything would help, during these hard times. Thank you!
