A MILLION steps to fight Covid

My name is Amad Ali, I am 49 years old, normally fit and healthy. I have abided by and followed all the Covid rules in protecting myself and others, however somehow I contracted Covid and I have been hospitalised since 25th January. I was very poorly and required urgent medical attention, I am currently on oxygen and making small progress. I recently lost my mother in law who sadly lost her fight to This deadly disease.
COVID-19 continues to spread, more individuals, communities and the entire UK and people across the globe are feeling the impact of Covid on a diary basis.
I want to acknowledge and thank all those frontline staff, our amazing NHS, the many volunteers and charities here in the UK and globally who are providing the vital care, treatment and support to people like me suffering from this deadly virus. I also want us all to remember those less fortunate than us such as the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. The Rohingya’s are going through an unimaginable struggle during a global pandemic with a serious threat to life.
I am starting this fundraiser to help the NHS and the persecuted Rohingya people in this difficult time.
To defeat this deadly Covid-19 me and my family have pledged to do ONE MILLION steps, which is approximately 500 miles in 19 days, we will do this in our home, back garden or in our estate socially distanced of course! I am currently on an oxygen machine to help me breathe. Me and my family members will start this challenge from Monday the 15th February, I will join in doing as much as I can whilst I remain at hospital and hope to complete the 19 day 1,000,000 steps challenge by 5pm on Friday the 5th March.
The funds I manage to raise through this fundraiser I will release half of which to NHS Charities Together and the other half will be released to the north east based charity Rohingya Action North East (RANE) to help equip them to continue with the charities work for the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.
