Covid has struck !!!
Hello friends and family! I'm reaching out to you because I've started a GoFundMe for my husband Billy Orr and our family. This is a very difficult time and I have found myself in a position that I can no longer shoulder the burden alone. I would like to take a moment to sincerely thank each and every one of you who have provided endless prayers and love during our difficult time. Many of you all have been very helpful with so much and I am very grateful for you all.
As many of you know, my husband Billy was diagnosed with COVID-19 as well as double pneumonia. He has been hospitalized since June 2, 2020. Due to his difficulty breathing, on June 5, 2020 he was placed on a ventilator. This has been extremely difficult because we cannot be near him to offer comfort, speak to him or even hold his hand. I cannot begin to tell you how this has affected us. The reality of this horrible disease is the most horrible experience I’ve had to deal with and I pray that no one else has to suffer. Needless to say, very shortly after Billy’s hospitalization this horrible virus struck my entire family with the exception of myself and one of my granddaughters.it was tough seeing my children Sick and not being able to be with them as well I thought my world was collapsing little by little as I felt helpless but Thankfully, everyone is recovering slowly but surely and I thank God so much for that .. May God continue to Bless us and bring my husband Billy home. I sincerely doubt my strength alone would have gotten me through this without the love, support and prayers from you all.
Unfortunately my love, Billy still remains in the ICU.
Still not being able to see or speak to him His team of doctors and nurses have kept me well informed about his progress daily which I appreciate .
They too are invested in his recovery and are working diligently to help him overcome this horrible virus. Ideally a ventilator is not something that the doctors want to keep their patients on for a prolonged period of time.
Because of this on June 25, 2020, Billy had a tracheotomy procedure done. The doctor believes this procedure will benefit him best in the long term with his recovery. As of now he is responding well and has shown some improvement .
Every step forward is a Blessing from
God! The doctors are beginning to slowly ween him off of the paralytic and sedation medication. He has opened his eyes and has followed some commands. He will still need some medication to keep. him calm and rested as he slowly regains consciousness. The ventilator is still very much needed but for the most part he is breathing on his own. This is great news given the fact that it has only been 5 days since the tracheotomy was done. Although Billy has a long recovery ahead of him, the doctors are optimistic and hopeful he will recover and I strongly believe that there is power in Prayer and for that we thank you all and ask that you continue to pray for him
With so much uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, we have tried so hard to not feel helpless. This has been challenging given our whole family has been touched
The financial burden to continue our day to day living is very hard for me to manage on my own.
We have had such a loving response from friends and family which I am eternally grateful for. You all have been a great support. I cannot tell you how much that means to us.
Yes I’ve been In denial for awhile thinking that God would make my Billy healthy and bring him home quickly.
Unfortunately, the reality of this ugly illness has prevented this from happening. So I must put my PRIDE aside
as we are desperately trying our best to pull things together and do our part to survive while healing.
We have all had to stop working while in quarantine and sadly the red tape necessary to get the assistance needed is going to take a little more time. So here it goes I’m asking for any type of donations that will assist me in caring for my family Donations will help with bills , rent, food , and other necessities..
I sincerely thank you on behalf of myself, Billy and my family ❤️
Please continue to pray for us all as well as for those that have been infected. Stay safe and God Bless you all!
Love and Prayers ❤️
