Covid in Africa
Donation protected
I never thought this would be me, asking for money publicly, but when I heard about people in Africa literally starving because of Covid shut downs, I wanted to do something. I know Covid has made things difficult all over the world but there are some I can help, but not on my own. My husband and I are preparing to go on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and our funds are limited. So if there is anyone out there who also would like to help our brothers and sisters across the globe, we who are so blessed, even in this time of turmoil, please trust that the money will go where it can help the truly needy. I will keep none but will send every cent forward. And, just because my husband's account was recently hacked and that request for money was a scam, know that this is really Trudy and I am really asking for help!
Those I have found a way to help include: A man in Uganda who shares a portion of his paycheck to feed a few families a month who are out of work for Covid. (See cover photo)
A woman and infant baby who's father is stuck in Gambia and needs rent.
A man whose benefactor was paying his school tuition but passed away from Covid.
A woman whose husband decided to withhold support for her and her children because of her newfound religious beliefs.
I know that we must be careful because there are many scams out there. But if we let ourselves be so worried about being scammed that we withhold our help from those who really need it, isn't that playing right into the hands of him who is the ultimate scammer?
I also know that the needs will always be there. When I help these, others will come forward and ask for help. I will do my best to make this help anonymous but again, I can't refuse to help where possible.
If you feel right about helping my African friends, Thank you, Thank you! I will do what I can to make sure the donations truly help the needy. I will also post pictures of the recipients as they recieve the help if possible.
