Covid Longhauler Syndrome Christina and Kaitlyn

I’m putting this fundraiser together on behalf of two deserving people, Christina and Kaitlyn. Both have been suffering the debilitating effects of Post Covid Longhauler Syndrome for many months post their initial COVID infection. If you aren’t familiar with this syndrome please reference the article below. This condition is a cruel syndrome that has afflicted millions of people from all around the world.

Previously strangers, Christina and Kaitlyn, both Texans, met online as they were both courageously joining a double blinded FDA drug trial/study based in Florida to treat Covid Longhaulers. They decided to become roommates to share expenses as the trial isn’t paying them to participate nor is it covering any travel or accommodation costs. Both have uprooted their lives to temporarily relocate to Florida in order to participate in this trial, thus paying more than double rent and many other expenses. Prior to joining the trial they were told when the 8 week trial concluded, they would have an opportunity to get the drug back at their homes based in Texas. It was just recently learned that the FDA is now requiring them to stay in Florida to continue drug treatment or get the drug if they are receiving placebo. Currently, neither know if they are getting placebo or drug, but others in the trial have seen vast improvements in recovery. In a few weeks, if they are able to stay, they will definitely have the opportunity to get the drug. They absolutely want to continue in the trial so they are able to have the opportunity to receive the drug as it has helped several other trial participants in a miraculous way. Two participants came to the trial in wheelchairs and both are now walking unassisted (see attached). Christina and Kaitlyn are hopeful not only for themselves but also hope that their participation in the study also helps millions of other people suffering with Post Covid Longhauler Syndrome all over the world. Being the first in line to sign up for a drug that hasn’t been tested is indeed a courageous and honorable decision.

Christina Garcia, from Galveston/Houston area, is a wife and mom of 4. Prior to Covid she led a active lifestyle, traveling and photography were her passions, and she loved being a part of her church. She had a mild/moderate case of Covid after which she started to develop seriously concerning and life altering symptoms. Things she suffered with include, severe brain inflammation, brain fog, rapid weight loss, lost over 30 pounds, extreme muscle wasting, tremors, visual disturbances, peripheral eye flashes, burning nerves, heart racing to extreme levels, and more. Christina has made dozens of visits to the emergency room since contracting COVID. She was also diagnosed with Guillain Barre but doctors have since re-diagnosed her with Post Acute Sequelae of Covid, otherwise known as Covid Longhauler Syndrome. She has visited countless doctors, taken hundreds of medical tests, tried dozens of therapies and supplements—all to no avail. She has had some incriminates of improvement over the last few weeks and is eager to see how this drug can help her improve further and be able to get back to active living and she is extremely hopeful that this drug will go on to help countless others suffering.
Kaitlyn Miller, who lives in Dallas with her husband Jered and their two dogs, was used to living an active life before developing a mild/moderate case of Covid. A few weeks afterwards, she started experiencing debilitating symptoms such as head swelling, thyroiditis, muscle pain, heart palpitations, and rapid weight loss. She saw countless specialists before finally being diagnosed as a Covid Long-hauler. She is slowly improving and is ready to get back to life and start a family. She’s excited about the potential of the drug trial and the potential it has for helping other people experiencing the horrible symptoms caused by Covid.
All donations will be used to cover travel expenses & any necessary accommodations, so they are able to remain in the trial and receive the treatment. Accommodations in south Florida are notoriously expensive.
