COVID WIDOW LOST HUSBAND AND SON IN APRIL 2020

SYLVIA JANKELEWICZ tragically and unexpectedly lost her Son, only child and best friend JAY, just 31 who died at home from COVID on 4/9/2020 and spouse HOWARD, of 47 years, just 69 who died at home from COVID on 4/20/2020, the day after they buried their precious Son.

Jay will not R.I.P. until he knows his MOM is able to be free of the emotional and financial stress she has been burdened with since APRIL 2020- THE WORST MONTH AND YEAR OF HER LIFE!!!

She needs your help to support herself and her 2 aging cats- LUCKY-19 and MARBLES-17 who provide her comfort through this difficult time.

Jay's dad was legally disabled since 1997 and his MOM his dad's full-time CAREGIVER and on PUBLIC ASSISTANCE till pushed on to SOCIAL SECURITY AT AGE 62.

Before Jay passed, he was the only one working full-time as an OFFICE MANAGER of the PHILO.DEPT. at CUNY/ BROOKLYN COLLEGE, BROOKLYN, NEW YORK (ALSO AN ALUM-GRAD. CLASS OF 2013). He was supporting his parents while living on credit cards to meet his own personal expenses and pay off student loans (completed his MASTER'S in JANUARY 2019). He was also battling ULCERATIVE COLITIS and trying to get it into remission. The family lived MONTH-TO-MONTH. THERE WAS NO SAVINGS!!!!

Thanks to 2 "GO FUND ME" Accounts established by his colleagues at BROOKLYN COLLEGE, money was raised to bury JAY on 4-19-2020, after his body remained in a freezer for 10 DAYS at the Chapel where his body was transported on 4-9-2-20 ( @$200 PER DAY). It was hoped that any money left over from the cost of the funeral would be used for his mom and dad to live on till other sources could be found. But, on 4-20-2020, Jay's dad passed away from COVID the day after JAY was laid to rest. His body remained in the freezer for 6 DAYS at the Chapel where his body was transported (@ f200 PER DAY) until enough money could be raised and laid to rest on

4-26-2020 next to JAY at a graveside service attended only by his wife and clergy.

HOW WAS SHE GOING TO SURVIVE????? SHE WAS DEVASTATED. HER LIFE HAD BEEN SHATTERED!!!!!

She was able to get a RENT REDUCTION, FOOD STAMPS AND 2 STIMULUS CHECKS IN LATE APRIL, her MONTHLY SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFIT and small pension to stay afloat.

No Government "COMPENSATION FUND" of any kind ever materialized to help all families struggling with the overwhelming FINANCIAL LOSS as a result of loved ones who died from COVID.

A "FEMA FUNERAL REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM " was launched in APRIL 2021 whereby PRESIDENT BIDEN vowed that ANY FAMILY THAT LOST LOVED ONES TO COVID BETWEEN JANUARY 1, 2020 TO DECEMBER 31, 2020 WOULD BE "REIMBURSED" FOR FUNERAL COSTS UP TO $9,000 PER INDIVIDUAL LOST. A total of $260 MILLION was set aside for NEW YORKERS out of $2BILLION SET ASIDE VIA BIDEN'S COVID RELIEF ACT OF 2021.

JAY's MOM applied on 4/16/2021 and was denied by FEMA on 7/2/2021. She APPEALED 4 times and DENIED 4 times and is still fighting for monies she feels strongly that she is entitled to. Jay and his dad were both U.S. CITIZENS, born and raised in BROOKLYN, NEW YORK while the program offers REIMBURSEMENT MONIES to NON-CITIZENS (ASYLEES, REFUGEES, ETC..) AND DOESN'T EVEN CARE ABOUT THE CITIZENSHIP STATUS OF THE DECEASED!!! JAY's MOM cannot get 5 cents !!!

His MOM had a financial cushion for a while thanks to DEATH BENEFITS from JAY'S UNION and workplace in late 2020, but those monies are all running out.

Jay's MOM is fearful of her future and needs to beg for your support to help her pay her monthly and daily expenses and keep money available should a medical emergency arise for her 2 SENIOR cats- VET FEES, E.R. or when the time comes, BURIAL options.
