Help India Breathe
Update: May 25th 2021-
We are disbursing the proceeds of this fundraiser with our other fundraiser here , and have transitioned all updates and donations to our GiveIndia page . India is still under the throes of the second surge and third surges that are cropping up, and we appreciate your support and contributions to Help India Breathe! Please donate on our GiveIndia page .
India is currently battling a severe COVID-19 second wave with roughly 350,000 new daily cases and over 2,600 daily deaths. Things are only going to get worse in the coming weeks.
With the hospital system overwhelmed, the need of the hour is donations towards essential medical supplies (oxygen and hospital beds), transportation, food security, and shelter. The money raised through this effort will support NGOs and organizations serving sections of society most in need.
The donations from this fund will go to GiveIndia’s India Covid Relief Fund-II, which directs resources to a growing list of NGOs working on the ground. Below we provide a few NGOs and we are updating the list as we go. Additionally, we are also making a disbursement tracker that will ensure complete transparency and accountability. Please email us if you would like to provide suggestions to the following list of NGOs. This fund follows the India Covid Relief Fund-I, for which the impact report is here.
Donation impact: USD 200 (approx Rs. 15,000) supports 20-30 people in a community with food and oximeters, USD 500 (approx Rs. 40000) helps buy an oxygen concentrator.
We welcome university students, faculty, alumni, and folks at private institutions to support this effort and help save lives. The action is time-sensitive, so we kindly request you to consider donating.
Thank you, and we appreciate your help!
