COVID-19 Breanna's long road to recovery

Hello, beautiful friends and family of Breanna. I am Lisa, her sister-in-law. I have been in close contact & would like to fill you in on what is going on with Breanna.
On November 26th, she came in contact with someone who was positive for Covid-19. She became very weak, dizzy, had difficulty breathing, and was not feeling well for the following week. She went to the Ogden Clinic in Roy on December 6th, and her Oxygen levels were at 80%. Breanna was immediate given oxygen; however, her oxygen was not leveling out, and the doctors demanded that she be admitted to a hospital. She was diagnosed with Covid Pneumonia. Breanna was rushed to McKaydee Hospital by her father, Todd. She ended up being admitted to be observed overnight. They were unable to get her oxygen any higher. Just after midnight on December 8th, she was put on a ventilator. The doctors had an extremely hard time getting her oxygen levels back to regular.
She was placed under a medical coma and continued to fight through the high doses of sedatives and paralytics. She was eventually placed into a paralytic coma. As they fought off fevers with ice packs and fans she continued with spiked fevers, several infections and even went into septic shock. Doctors were very, very concerned with her lungs as they became 75% full. She was on the vent for 45 days. The doctors in the ICU had family get ready for the worst, they did not believe that she was going to make it. While flipping her on 12/31 she had bitten off 1/2 of her tongue. They were able to fortunately save her tongue, she has small missing pieces at the end of her tongue. On 1/20 they finally took her off of the vent and opted for a tracheotomy.
On Jan 20th, she was finally able to be woken up. Her brother Tyson was there to say his fist hello since December 6th. On Dec 23rd she had very quickly managed to stand up beside her bed with assistance! The doctor's were dumbfounded by how quickly she was making progress. She even had her memory ( which we were told that is highly unusual ) Breanna would spend the next several days still in the ICU. Finally on February 2nd she was transferred to a raspatory rehab. During her stay they helped with being able to walk again, eat again and ever to learn how to speak all the while she was smashing every goal she made. Everyone fully expected here to be there for several months and that she would never be the same. She has proved THEM ALL very wrong. She finally came home to her family on March 3rd! She is still recovering at home. While at home she has been working on everything she was taught in PT and making sure that she can be as healthy as she can be to go back to a fully functional life. She is still on oxygen, and we are not sure if ever she will be off of that. She continues to stay strong and fight everyday to get better!
If you are able, please consider helping with a gift of a donation to her fund to help with the stress of what’s to come after this long journey. She is a very kind hearted soul. All funds will go directly to Breanna. Please leave a message for her! She would love to see all your support. If you can, please share :)
