COVID-19 help - Mask strap extenders
Donation protected
I am a student at Louisiana Tech University and I am now living at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I am a student worker for SciTEC in the College of Education at Tech to fix/operate 3D printers, two of which I brought home with me.
Many family and friends who work in the medical field have told us about the ear pain that wearing face masks has caused them. We then saw a Facebook post of a young boy who designed a mask strap extender which allows the mask to be wrapped around the extender rather then behind the ears.
I decided that this would be a great way to contribute to this COVID-19 war since I have a few 3D printers and plenty of material. I have now been printing and mailing out these "ear guards" for two weeks and have made over 2,000. This sounds like a lot, but the demand is closer to 10,000.
Any contributions will be used to cover printing supplies and shipping materials and costs. If there are excess donations received, we will donate that money to a food bank serving those in need due to job loss during this pandemic.
Thank you so much for your support! Praying for you and your family to stay safe and healthy.
