AllyShip (AKA Sailors & Seniors for Homeless)
Donation protected
We have been going out every Sunday since COVID-19 started to feed the homeless in Jersey City, NJ after seeing so many really desperate people on the streets scrounging for food. Over the course of these now 31 weeks, we are up to the goal of feeding 65+ friends every Sunday with homemade soups, stews, pasta and cupcakes (warms everyone's hearts!) supplemented with donations from our community. This has morphed into something bigger than us. We are now providing food, drink, clothing and masks with a loose coalition of upwards of 40 like-minded peoples. Sailors are on the ground making meals and handing them out. I have my Mom’s Eugene, Oregon retirement community working on sewing masks as we speak (1500+ to date) and We have retired friends making masks as well. Your donations have been helping with all of this: food, mask materials, shipping and now with the onset of colder weather, warm clothing. THIS IS TRULY A COMMUNITY.
We are now transforming our group into a Non-Profit assuming the presence of URBAN HOPE and we are in the process of expanding slowly to other communities and partnering with other like minded organizations to benefit our in need neighbors.
Thank you all for your continued support and love.
