Mutual Morris COVID-19 Fund
Donation protected
Individuals and families in Morris County are facing a particularly difficult time right now, with school closures, quarantines, unpaid sick leave, potential medical bills and still the need to stay on top of paying rent and buying food and other supplies.
If you know of someone who may need a delivery of some food or other items, please have them call 1-800-535-9383 and we will get someone to drop off a package at their door for them. If you want to volunteer your own time to buy items and deliver them, or to do outreach in your town, please let me know.
If you know of anyone who needs other kinds of help due to COVID-19, please also feel free to let me know.
We are working to help support our communities during this time of illness of people and society. In a country without universal single-payer healthcare or a strong social safety net, a strong community is more important than ever.
Beyond coordinating this effort, I am asking for financial assistance now so I can reach more of our neighbors and help in more ways. I only have a part-time job but will be using whatever resources I can find to help pay for items if the recipient can't afford them, so that no one has to go without. I am also handing out items to our homeless neighbors and trying to help people who are already dealing with life in poverty. Soon, more of us will be losing our jobs and if we are not prepared to help support each other, we will all suffer in the end.
This is NOT a donation to a political party or organization. This goes directly through me to someone in need.
The more you can give, the more we can help. Let's use our combined power and love to help Morris County through this time and beyond.
Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
In solidarity,
Theresa
