COVID-19 Relief for the Mejia's

Donation protected
As many of you know, Ruben recently survived COVID-19. It was terrifying not knowing if he would live; we are blessed that he’s back home after 12 days in the hospital.

Since May 3rd, Ruben has been unable to return to work. He’s lost over 20 lbs and still needs supplemental oxygen and an inhaler. He is improving slowly, but he’s still at high risk.

Financially, his boss said he can’t afford to pay him for time off. Meanwhile, our hospital bills are piling up; a nurse from the insurance company called to walk me through declaring bankruptcy.

After wrestling with insurance, we continue to have regular medical expenses. Ruben’s inhaler, for example, is $100 per cartridge. (He doesn’t have asthma, so it isn’t considered a necessity).

To make matters worse, as a teacher, I am not paid during the summer. So, currently we have no income. As a result, we are now beginning to struggle with day-to-day bills (especially rent).

We are worried. So, we are asking for your financial help on this GoFundMe page. Please consider donating so that we can pay our current bills and cover our mountain hospital bills.

Thank you,
-Ruben, Robyn, Keith, & Carmen
