COVID-19 Relief Fund for Nepali Tourism Workers
Donation protected
Nepal launched Visit Nepal 2020, but it couldn’t be possible due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. It has certainly negatively impacted the lives of everyone. Nepal has been in the state of complete lockdown since mid-March.
Tourism is one of the major sources of income to a huge part of the population in Nepal. The people in Nepal do not receive stimulus checks, unemployment checks, or paycheck protection programs.
It's heartbreaking to hear how little or no government support has been provided for the people in difficult times like this. It has impacted the lives behind the scenes of guides, drivers, porters, cooks and staff members.
Small business owners who are self-made in the tourism industry have the worst impact of all. The backbone of the agency, our guides, porters, drivers, cooks and the family of our own are uncertain for what will happen in the coming days.
The basic needs for quality food and hygiene, education for the children, medical expenses for the sick members of the families of small tourism business owners and the staffs’ families are very concerning due to the crashing economy of the country due to the global pandemic.
We are committed to ensure our backbone (guide, porters, drivers and cooks) for the upcoming adventures and going through the pandemic together.
We understand it's a difficult time for everyone right now and we're all facing various financial difficulties on our own. Anything you can contribute will be greatly appreciated, however small or big.
Our goal is to be able to help 28+ guides & porters and their families in this difficult time.
We are looking forward to the days we can travel freely again. Our guides are also eager to see visitors again in the country and will be waiting to greet you the next time you arrive with a smile.
The funds will be transferred to Nepal. Financial help for food and health care will be provided through Adventure Pilgrims Trekking to the Nepali Tourism Workers.
Thank you & Namaste.
