COVID-19 Relief for Westchester NY Workers in Need
Donation protected
[FUNDRAISER ORGANIZED BY MORE THAN MOZART]
COVID-19 is an unprecedented crisis that is causing challenges and hardships across a wide spectrum of society. In particular, many small businesses are losing business and being forced to reduce their workforce. This is resulting in many workers who have no income and face financial difficulties.
That is why More Than Mozart is raising funds to help these workers of local businesses who are most impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.
More Than Mozart is an outreach club based at Ardsley High School that uses music as a platform to help those in need. Over the past two years, we have held several fundraising concerts for local charities, and performed at senior homes and hospitals.
As we are unable to put on public performances now due to COVID-19, we are instead using social media as our platform to help neighbors in need during this difficult time.
We will post videos of music performed by our very own club members, both here and on our Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/morethanmozart/.
Our ability to provide economic aid as students is limited, so we hope you will join us in lending a hand to the dedicated local workers who need our support the most. Any donation, no matter how small, makes a difference! And, even if you cannot donate, you can help our cause by sharing this page with friends and family.
100% of donations will land right in the pockets of workers in Greenburgh, NY who are struggling financially.
Additionally, if you know of someone who is facing difficulty, please reach out to us. We want to hear their story and help them as much as we can.
For instance: a potential recipient of our funds is a family (mother and three children) living in a one bedroom apartment with a monthly rent of $980. The mother lost her full-time job at a Dollar Store, and the children lost their part-time jobs in retail. They lived paycheck to paycheck but have been unemployed for the past three weeks now and have no money for food and rent. Two other potential recipients are full-time bartenders and servers at a local restaurant. They lack the means to pay for rent, phone bills, car insurance, etc, and on top of financial difficulties, losing family and friends to the virus has taken a mental and emotional toll. We hope that you will join us in supporting these members of our community.
For full transparency, we will post all updates on fundraising and distributions on our website: morethanmozart.org.
To close, some words of hope:
In this difficult and uncertain time, we must stand united and remember every member of our diverse community. Our community is made of hard workers and of providers. They make our community what it is; now, it is our turn to support them.
Thank you in advance for your support! Please stay healthy and well.
