COVID19 Womens Initiative: Southwestern Ontario

COVID-19 Women's Initiative (CWI) is a non-profit, medical student-led organization that is currently collecting monetary donations in order to support women's shelters in the GTA, Hamilton, and London. This will help cover increased food requirements, provide safe alternative housing for women, cover evolving PPE costs, and other shelter-specific costs.

The ObGyn Advocacy Team at U of T collected donations until July 1, 2020 through the CWI Ontario GoFundMe page to address food insecurity, experienced across the GTA, Hamilton, and London. Donations were used to provide nutritious meals for women and children at women's shelters, at a reduced cost.

YWCA (Toronto)
Please note: $100 donations were made to each of Women's Health in Women's Hands, Black Health Alliance, and Black Women In Motion to support the Black community in Canada. Additionally, the CWI was generously supported by the staff of the Women's Inpatient Unit at The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).
