Covid crisis INDIA 2021
Tax deductible
Update as of 5/17/2021:
The task team has successfully procured (from donations) and sent 36 oxygen concentrators this week, along with STAANA (Stanley Medical College Alumni Association) to Chennai to distribute to the needy in all over Tamil Nadu. Our work does not stop here, there are still 400,000 new cases every day and more than 2500 deaths daily. Your generous contribution will help us procure more oxygen concentrators, oximeters and other needed supplies to send to hospitals in need, hence we are increasing our goal to $30,000.
COVID CRISIS INDIA 2021
" It has been a year since we started the COVID 19 Tamil Task Team (in association with ATMA). We worked extremely hard to help the Covid crisis in the USA.
As COVID-19 crisis continues to loom over us, India has become the terrifying new epicenter of Covid-19 pandemic with cases topping 300K and 2500+ deaths daily.
Nations around the world are pitching in to help India deal with the latest wave, we would like to do our part as well.
ALMOST a year to the date that we at COVID 19 Tamil Task Team set up our Go Fundme page to provide relief to the mammoth humanitarian crisis that unfolded when the pandemic first began, we are reopening this page to raise funds for the most pressing needs caused by the current situation in India.
Your help is much appreciated and urgently needed, please donate and support the cause. "
Helping and supporting each other through these unprecedented times is the only way to fight COVID-19 together.
The American Tamil Medical Association (ATMA) – a registered 501(c)(3) organization has created a COVID-19 Tamil task team comprising volunteer physicians from ATMA and non-medical volunteers who have joined hands in fighting this crisis.
ATMA NJ/NY is looking to raise funds to help COVID-19 patients and their families. This relief fund will be used to provide the following services:
- Provide PPE (personal protective equipment) and other supplies to volunteers, health care workers, environmental, community workers and families in need
- Help deliver medications, food, groceries and other essential supplies to family members suffering from COVID-19 (on quarantine or isolation) including the elderly and estranged family members of patients
- Provide free packaged food for families in need
- Provide psychological, emotional, nutritional and advisory support to the children of infected parents who have been hospitalized
- Communicate and collaborate with family members in India and help recovering patients rehabilitate and restart their routine life
- Help family members in India to claim the remains of deceased patients and arrange for the deceased patient’s savings to be legally available for the
benefit of their family
- Provide medical support to students and the elderly who have been stranded here as they cannot travel back to India
- Collaborate with the Consulate General of India (New York) and other governmental organizations to provide any other help needed
The ATMA team makes a humble request to donate as much as you can to help get through this difficult time together. Even a small donation can make huge difference and help save someone’s life.
Let’s tackle COVID-19 together!
Thank you in advance for your contribution.
