COVIDPOV Film

Tax deductible
Each day now, we wake up together, but alone.

Wondering, what does the future hold?

For humanity. For ourselves. For our neighbors. For our families.  For the elderly. For all essential workers.

Two months ago, we didn’t even have the term “essential worker.”  Many of us didn’t use Zoom.

And, we certainly didn’t know we’d become chefs, teachers, entrepreneurs, grocery scrubbers, dancers, criers, distant lovers and deep introspectives overnight.

We find ourselves collectively entangled in a surreal reality we NEVER could have dreamt up.

This is why a collective of 26 female filmmakers came together to help voices be heard during this unprecedented time.

We are here to capture history as this pandemic reveals itself to us, day by day.

FILM PREMISE

The COVID virus stopped time for everyone and an unprecedented global reset started.

We’ve come together to survive an historic pandemic, which some are calling "the great equalizer."

But isolation ruptured many communities and severed many connections. Our points of view became myopic.

Told through raw, self-shot experiences over 60 days, contributors from over the USA offer their insights, emotions and opinions through these altered times.

COVIDPOV Film explores the day-to-day experiences of families and individuals struggling and succeeding through the pressures of the COVID pandemic.

We face what happens when people are forced to be stripped down to the most basic needs, like food and safety, and how race, gender and class impact our allegedly shared experience.

When the dust settles, have we gained a new sense of connection, or has isolation actually made us more divided than ever?

ABOUT THE FILM:

To date, we have 71 people submitting from all over the world, including the US, Brazil, Spain, China, Czech Republic and Italy.  From working-at-home moms, to frontline healthcare providers, farmers, grocery shoppers, transit workers, protestors, college students, and pregnant women, we are covering all of this pandemic. The final film will likely feature five main contributors, with excerpts from many others.

For the first time in our professional careers, we are actively doing development, pre-production, production and post-production simultaneously. This means, with zero planning, we committed to making a film.
