Donate to help us create COVID-safer events

We are a group of six immunocompromised / COVID-conscious Londoners looking to organise monthly events for members of our community to safely socialise.

Governments and the public have decided to abandon infection control and endanger those around them, putting already-marginalised communities at risk of Long COVID, social isolation, and death. We want to create spaces for people to socialise, find community, and have fun without putting themselves or others at risk of damage to their immune, cardiovascular, or nervous systems.

These events would include socialising, arts and crafts, games, music, and more. FFP2/3 masks and proof of a negative test would be required (and provided) at all events, and HEPA air purifiers would be running at all times.

We are specifically welcoming:

Disabled people (4x higher COVID mortality rate)

People of colour (32% long COVID rate)

Women (36% long COVID rate)

Transgender people (48% long COVID rate)

Neurodivergent people (30% long COVID rate)

People with HIV (58% long COVID rate)

or anyone else at increased risk (or those who don't want to spread such a disease to the greater London community).

To organize these events for Spring 2025, we are asking for £297. The breakdown is as follows:

£23 per hour private hire fee for event spaces x 3 hours per social = £69 per social x 3 months = £207.

£0.40 masks + £0.80 pound tests = £1.20 per person x 25 people per social = £30 per event x 3 months = £90 for PPE

At the moment, we are fundraising only for Spring 2025, meaning however much we raise by March 31 determines how many events we will have in the Spring. For example, if we only raise £99 by March 31, we will only have 1 event for the rest of the Spring. If we raise less than that, we will not host any events in the Spring and will instead use that money to fund events in the Summer. If we raise more than £297 by the end of March or our expenses are under budget, we will save the remaining money to fund Summer socials and/or a larger event down the road.

Events will be pay-what-you-can to help us reach these goals faster. The recommended donation for attending will be £6 (£4.95 to break even (if the event hosts 20-25 people), £1.05 to help continue events).

If these socials sound like something you'd like to attend regularly, we ask that you donate £15, which will help us cover the cost of your attendance and PPE for the Spring.

DM @Greta.Mauch on Instagram with proof of donation and she will mail you a custom mask chain or have it available for you to pick up at the events. Charms are also available for every £5 donated.

Here is how your donation will help us:

£1.20 covers tests and masks for one person at one social.

£2.40 covers tests and masks for two people at one social.

£3.60 covers tests and masks for 1 person for all of Spring 2025.

£5 covers one person attending one social.

£7.20 covers tests and masks for 1 person for all of Spring 2025.

£10 covers 2 people attending one social.

£15 covers 1 person attending all socials for all of Spring 2025.

£23 covers 1 hour of venue rental.

£30 covers 2 people attending all socials for all of Spring 2025.
