Covington & Tipton County Tornado Disaster Relief

On Friday, March 31, 2023, two destructive tornadoes hit Tipton County and Covington, Tennessee leaving behind over 30 miles of destruction in their wake.
Based on current assessments:
- There is nearly $40 million in damage.
- Over 500 homes were damaged and 62 were completely destroyed.
- Over 160 families - men, women, children, elderly, and disabled - have been displaced from their homes.
- There was significant to severe damage to 25 businesses in Covington and Tipton County, including to Crestview Middle School and Crestview Elementary School.
- Over 1,200 students and staff have lost their school.
- Over 1,500 people in our community are currently out of work due to destroyed or damaged workplaces.
All money raised in this campaign will go directly to the Disaster Relief Fund sent up in partnership with the Covington First United Methodist Church for the benefit of families and victims affected by this storm throughout Tipton County. The church will distribute financial support received from this campaign to eligible victims.
The City of Covington has received an outpouring of donations of food, water, and supplies, and the generosity of our community, neighbors, and friends is humbling. We are so grateful.
However, these families and victims of this disaster will need ongoing assistance to rebuild their lives, and your generosity - no matter how large or small - will help them in the days, weeks and months to come.
