COWW Pioneer Park Playground Rebuild
Donation protected
Pioneer Park Playground was originally completed in 1908 when the park was created. The original playground was equipped with swings, horizontal bars, ladders, flying and traveling swings, giant strides, vaulting horses, and more. There were few public playgrounds in the United States when those here were established.
In 2019 a committee was formed to come up with a concept and raise funds for a new adaptive playground to replace the current playground which was installed in 2003 and has come to the end of its useful life.
Our goal is to create an engaging, open-access space for children and adults of all abilities to gather together to build community through creative play, natural spaces, and learning by developing emotional, physical and mental health.
